Scope note
Quarter bindings featuring a flat, gilt-lettered, green or brown calfskin leather spine, dark red cloth or paper covers on the boards, gilt top edge, and rough-cut or deckle side and bottom edges. This type of binding was originally used for publications of the Roxburghe Club, an association of bibliophiles founded in England in 1812 and named after the Duke of Roxburghe.
